The bottom line: it’s a fresh movie, it’s something different, and we need more movies like that, more writers like Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt, they were probably like:

“Hey let’s do this!”

“Do you think it would work? I mean, What if the people don’t like it?”

“Who cares? Let’s do this!”

The good: Not from a book, not a remake and not a sequel (or prequel), a completely original story that keeps you guessing until the very end.

The bad: Somebody please tell Jesse Eisenberg that his role as Mark Zuckerberg is over. It seems like he is stuck in that role.

Since about ten or fifteen years ago, most of the movies out there are remakes, sequels, prequels or they are based on books, comic books, cartoons or old TV shows. Once in a while an original script appears to let us take a break from all these entertainment industry, which seems to be losing originality every day. “Now you see me” is definitely one of those.

It keeps you guessing and entertained until the very end, it was like a combination between “Oceans Eleven” and “The Prestige.” If you liked those movies, you’ll enjoy this one.

I liked the fact that the couple of not-so-known faces of the cast did a great job. Dave Franco was great, I’ve seen him in a couple of movies and he is doing a great job, I hope he has a long and good career. Isla Fisher didn’t do so much but she is beautiful, she was always there, running, complaining about something and wearing a pair of gloves that made her look cute, so she was fine. Not the case of Jesse Eisenberg, I mean, he was nominated for an Oscar for his role as Mark Zuckerberg in “Social Network” but after watching him in three more movies and a couple of interviews, I think that he wasn’t even acting, he was just being himself. Mark Ruffalo had a better performance at the Avengers than here, so, do your math.

It was good to see Mélanie Laurent, maybe you remember her for her role as Shosanna in Inglorious Basterds, she had a good performance, and her smile is gorgeous.  With so many young people, Michael Kane and Morgan Freeman brought balance to the cast.

I definitely recommend this movie; perhaps it doesn’t deserve an Oscar but is worth watching. Entertaining and exciting from beginning to end, but the most important thing is that “Now you see me” is different, original and fresh.
